Interactive map-based tool lets buyers search for homes by location online
ST. LOUIS, MO -- May 22, 2002 -- When it comes to real estate, everyone knows it's all about location. Now Datix Real Estate Solutions introduces RealCompass, a customizable Web-enabled map-based listing search that allows prospective homeowners to search for property by city, community or street.
Once RealCompass is installed on a broker's site, visitors can search for all available properties in their desired area. The map displays addresses and prices. Searchers can
view details about homes in their search area by clicking on each property's icon; they can then see the multiple listing information available for the home, along with photographs, driving directions and any remarks by the listing broker.
"RealCompass is an easy way for homebuyers to narrow down properties in specific areas without having to spend time driving around," said Bryan Sapot, President of Datix Real
Estate Solutions. "It also allows real estate brokers to make their sites much more interactive and useful for potential clients."
RealCompass integrates seamlessly with a real estate broker's own site, adapting to the site's existing look and feel. New properties can be added as often as needed. Brokers can use RealCompass to generate reports on productivity, market share and listing statistics.
"People most often look for homes in a certain location, and then they look for homes in that area that fit into their price range," Sapot said. "A Web site with RealCompass
allows clients to do so at their leisure, so they can go to their real estate broker with a pre-qualified list of properties to visit. Everyone benefits."
